ABOUT
What this archive is and where it comes from
UFOs / ET Phone Home is an unofficial, fan-made archive of the U.S. Department of War's declassified UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) document release at war.gov/UFO.
All records and original PDFs link directly back to the government source. Nothing is mirrored or modified — this site is a presentation layer over the public CSV manifest the government publishes.
Stats
- 222 total records · 158 in release 01 · 64 in release 02
- 86 videos · 39 photos · 97 documents
- 170 with location data plotted on the globe
On the count. war.gov's first tranche (8 May 2026) originally listed 161 entries — but three were duplicate rows (one repeat of DOW-UAP-D23, two of DOW-UAP-D32). The Department consolidated them, so this archive mirrors the corrected 158 first-release records, plus 64 from the 22 May second tranche — 222 in all. We mirror what war.gov publishes, edits and all.
Methodology
- The CSV manifest is sourced from
war.govand committed to the repo; the site is built from that snapshot. - Incident-Location strings are geocoded with a static lookup table (committed to the repo) — see
data/location-lookup.json. - Regional locations (e.g. "Middle East", "Indo-PACOM") are flagged and rendered as larger pins to avoid implying false precision.
- Videos are embedded from DVIDS using their public iframe API.
- The "LISTEN" narration uses ElevenLabs text-to-speech (with a fallback to the browser's built-in voice).
